FOOD+DRIVES
Whenever a Feed the Funnel party host desires, we’re happy to help organize the collection of food, health and hygiene items to benefit our neighbors in need. These items are typically donated to the same nonprofit chosen for the donation of meals packed at the Feed the Funnel party. If you’re hosting a party, please check out our Food+Drive flyer for recommended items to collect.
Of course you don’t have to host a Feed the Funnel party to conduct a Food [Plus] Drive! You can do it anytime that’s good for you. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Your organization might also consider conducting a Be Neighborly drive. The Be Neighborly app makes it easy and convenient to purchase and donate pre-filled grocery bags to the nonprofits of your choice. At the end of a Be Neighborly drive, individual orders are consolidated and one large order is placed at retailers close to each recipient nonprofit. Then, the nonprofit simply goes to the store to pick up everything from the drive at one time! How’s that for taking all of the legwork out of the traditional food drive! For more information about Be Neighborly and to download the app, check out the Be Neighborly website.
If you want to take a crazy fun twist on a drive, here are some other terrific items that your organization could collect. Of course it’s always a good idea to talk with your local nonprofits first to see what would be most useful to the people they serve!
- Kitchen items: Slow cooker, blender, wooden kitchen utensils
- Gardening supplies: Hoe, shovel, garden gloves, hand trowel, garden rake
- Cash for fresh produce: Take up donations for the local food bank and request that they purchase fresh produce.
- Clothes: New shoes, socks, coats
